urine question

    hiya

    looking for some advice

    our kitten is 9months old now and the last few days his urine has a very string amonia smell to it

    anyone have any ideas what this could be?

    any advice would be great - we have the vets on friday with him

    yep, sounds like the teenage hormones kicking in...

    (also if he has very recently been neutered it could still be the hormones... can take up to a month - I think - for the smell to die down )

    sounds like that wonderful stinky tom smell as he is now sexually mature!

    Have him castrated and it should go back to the normal cat wee smell.

    and the sooner the better... he might start spraying in your home otherwise... so I would be making an appointment for the neuter as soon as possible. The amonia smell in his pee shoule be gone in about a month, but even within a week it will be less.

    Yes he is just showing or smelling :eek: like a erm big cat now :rolleyes: I would get him booked in asap & if he isnt a house cat whatch he doesnt disapear off to find a lady friend ;) He may also start spraying around your house :frown: so the sooner the better realy :D

    i have taken LOADS of photos but lost my usb so cant upload them!


    SHE IS GORGEOUS! I am absoloutly over the flippin moon!

    Settled in within about an hour :thumbup:

    eating like a horse (seriously... its amazing how much more a coonie kitten eats compared to a common or garden moggie!) :eek:

    little purr box and loves to play :001_tt1:

    loves billy.... hates miso (turns into a ginger ball of hair and charges him when he sleeps!) :arf:

    I am totally totally smitten with her! :001_wub: :001_wub:

    Awwwwwwwwwwww bless her little big paws :D she sounds lovely, you will have to get pics sorted soon :mad: & if she's anything like Louie at eating she'l be at the 2012 eating comp with him :lol::lol::lol:
