hi everyone, I have two male rats who are about 7 months old and recently decided that I wanted to get them two new baby boys as their cage is easily large enough. Unfortunately I just came home from a very long drive the pick them up and I’m worried that one of the new babies is actually a female! They’re happily running around and not nervous at all so I don’t think they could be ‘sucking’ their balls up out of fear but I can’t see any, aswell as this however I can’t see any nipples either! It costs a fortune where I live the get rats desexed (about $250 each!!) but I would happily get the single girl desexed if necessary. If I did this could the fixed girl live peacefully with intact male rats?? Thankyou for your help!!

Definitely!! As long as one of the sexes is altered it works well. She won't go into heat and won't cause those exciting hormones to kick in eventually. They may try to mate with her at first, but it should die down in a short while.
