Can anyone give me a little bit of advice.
Usually i am really good with all my dogs and know them really well.
But i have a bit of a problem going on at the mo.
Since Hunny B turned 6 months she is getting very bossy.
My alpha male border collie and her have these little spats.
He grabs her by the back legs..wonder if he thinks she is a sheep, she does look like one!
Then she will try going back at him.
Then the roles reverse are they both fighting for top dog?
Sometimes it takes two of us to get them apart.
The border collie is also getting bossy out on his walks with other dogs,do you think Hunny B is doing this to him?
Hunny B is just over 9 months wonder if she is coming into season perhaps and he knows maybe.
Any help on this would be fantastic thanks.

I would assume that Hunny is questioning him as the leader and is trying to establish herself as the Alpha!!

He is probably being bossy on his walks because the whole situation is stressing him a little. He is trying to keep his 'pack' in line so that no-one else tries to step up to him!

But if Hunny's season is coming up she would be having a surge for hormones and therefore emotions too.

I am sorry this is only what i would assume  I couldn't say anything for sure because i have never been through it.

Hopefully someone who has experienced this will reply soon.

  3. They will establish there own pack order colsy!
    When you bitch matures
reads that she will automaically take top rank!
Not many males challenge for the position!
ONCE sorted things will quiten down!
    Are you having her spayed???

I have 3 males well two and a half if you count Elmo bless him.;)
The other four are all girls.
Hunny B is puppy humping all the dogs apart from the toy poodle too.
I may let Hunny B have a litter not sure as yet see how things pan out.
I already have awaiting list up to my elbows for folk wanting puppies.
At least i could rehome them.
Not sure if breeding is for me yet,big big choice.

Good advice. Dogs need to find their place in the pack and sometimes you will have to deal with "spats" whilst they sort it out. My only advice, is to always ensure your place is not taken as "leader"

Because we have 9 bitches we sometimes have spats bewtween Tessa, penny and Mavis. They cant be top dog as top dog is our lab bonnie joint with Chester, (well apart from me dad and mum) no one even tries it with either of them two. But they all want a high ranking in pack order.
In time they will sort out their own pack order, If fights get out of hand always intervene. They tend to be show more than anything.
