I've noticed a few raw feeders listing turmeric in the "whats in the bowl today" thread.

I have never added this but I'm curious now. What are the benefits of it :)

I read about it a long time ago so can't really remember the fine details but as far as i know it has anti inflammatory properties so works against any swellings like fatty lumps, wart type things and even cancerous tumors, a long time ago i was reading on this cancer treatment for dogs site and there was so many people saying how turmeric has really helped.
And obviously any other type of swelling like from injuries
It also thins the blood so helps with keeping healthy circulation and heart IIRC
Pretty sure there was more too but i'm not great at remembering these things lol

    Thanks for the replies :)

Think I will start adding it to Lucky's food. How much/often should I add it?

Lucky is 6kg if that helps.

^^ what they said, I can buy fresh turmeric from the local Morrisons which I add into blended veggies, they get those a couple of times a week usually.

I add a teaspoon over there food 2-3 times a week, I'd give Lucky probably a level teaspoon a couple of times a week

I can certainly verify how well it works....!!

My 4 yr old bitch had a sebaceous cyst on her neck which my vet told me would be there for life but if it got troublesome he would cut it out.

After doing some research on the net I started adding Turmeric to her dinner and after about 4 months it was gone.

I use Turmeric in Whisper's food as she has some stiffness in one of her shoulder's. I buy the capsules from Holland & Barratt and sprinkle those on her food. :)
