Shouldn't the dogs in the tooth challenge also have had a 'control' group, where they had no tooth stuff/ tooth brushing?

    Definitely!

And it's also completely untrue that cat fleas can only lay eggs after feeding on feline blood. No idea where they got that from.

Pretty scary about the reasoning now behind some diabetes but brilliant to watch surgery removing the tumour from the cat's brain.

Fire retardants have been linked with hyperthyroidism too.

@Ceiling Kitty That dental vet is highly esteemed by other dental specialists and he said there is evidence to say that kibble works better on cats' plaque. Is this the study which concluded that the reason it was as good as brushing was lack of compliance from the owners brushing their cats' teeth? If there is another study, can you provide a link please?

I thought the diabetes being caused by a tumour on the pituitary gland was fascinating. I was very disappointed though on the nutrition part that there was no mention of the excess of grains & sugar in our pets food, it was a perfect opportunity.

Shame they weren't able to tell us which foods met the required standard.

I am interested in knowing if dry really is good for cats teeth. Problem is finding an unbias study!

I actually missed the first half as a friend rang me (how very dare she :D). I thought the bit about diabetes caused by tumours was interesting, but I was disappointed it didn't mention the causes of the 75% of diabetes not caused by a tumour.

I don't know that study! Can certainly have a look through the literature and see if anything comes up.
