One thing we've been thinking about is when and how to train Jammy into using the cat wheel. But apparently we can stop thinking about it as Ted and Darcy have taken it upon themselves to give Jammy some lessons.

Ted: check this out Jammy I'm sitting in the wheel.

    This is how you walk

Darcy joins in to show how easy it is

And then... Jammy has a go!

Bless little Jammy. Have to say that I have wheel envy. Do they use it?

We've had the wheel since 2013, and it's been a fairly consistent part of the tonks life since then. They love it and use it daily... If money hadn't been an issue we would have bought a second one a year or so ago. And now things are a bit more stable for us we are thinking seriously about that again. :)

I will try and get a video later. Jam has been on the wheel on her own this morning after her training session last night :)

How did you teach/get the tonks to start using the wheel when you first got it?

We just put them in it :-D

We did use toys a bit to encourage but they took to it right away.

When CK arrived we didn't even do anything, he just started using it. He runs the fastest of them all... He practically runs around in a loop he's so quick :)

I’ve watched all 7 videos and I love it. I wonder if Loulou would go on it, might shift some weight off her. X

The place I got mine no longer exists, but there are a number of cat wheels available.

These are ones I know about - I imagine there are others out there as well. Like I said tho, none of these are the same as my wheel so I really can't comment on if these are good/robust etc.

    Maclaw Wheel: http://www.maclawwheel.co.uk/
One fast cat: http://onefastcat.com/ (US, but you can get these in the UK/Europe)
    Fat bad cat: https://fatbadcat.com/t/cat-wheels

Is yours one of the Purrfect Homes wheels? Looks familiar :)

I've seen the Maclaw Wheel at a national pet show in the past, they have a significantly larger footprint than the others as they are a bit like a traditional hamster wheel and rotate on a central bearing on the back wall of the wheel rather than sitting on a roller box.

Not seen a One Fast Cat, but I do know at at least one US wheel of that or a very similar design has been reported to have exposed roller supports that could potentially trap a paw in multicat households. If I needed a wheel (which I don't), I'd certainly want one with a fully enclosed support base like the Purrsonal Touch ones were, much safer :)

FatBadCat wheels I know well, of course, though I'm not sure if they are making at the moment. Bigger diameter than other wheels, sturdy enough to take young children playing on them, and (of course!) UK made :)

Cazemi I won't comment on for the sake of peace and quiet on the forum ;)

Yes - it was from Purrfect homes, it was the original catswall cats wheel. I think there is a new version now.

And... didn't know about the danger in the One Fast Cat type wheels... that's a bit scary!

I really like the FatBadCat wheels... thats the one I would get if we do manage to get a second wheel...
