    Hi there
Tortoiseshell cats (one word), are female cats, usually ginger with black. I’ve heard some people say they aren’t keen on them, but in my experience, all the ones I have met, have been lovely. They can be short haired or long haired. ‘Anything you specifically wanted to know about them?

I had a tortie. Rescued her at 6 years old. Her mean family had called her Slick. Her real name was Sissy. I had a 2 year old ginger boy (Baby) at the time and Sissy adopted him as her long lost little brother. Sissy was a pistol and I got to treasure her and her individual ways for 15 years. Baby left me a month after she did. He was only 13.
