I thought it may be worth having a thread on how to look after cats in this weather. This is my first summer with 2 indoor cats and a lot
of windows. Fotunately for my sanity I have been offered a job after being unemployed. So far though I have been around to ensure
home is reasonably cool by switching on fans, aircon, closing off warm
rooms, opening doors to cool rooms, same with windows (I use plastic ties that stop window opening wide enough for them to escape). Obviously I won't be around to do all of this soon and want them ok. One is extremly playful and in this weather I have caught him a few time panting (given water) which is play enduced.

I gave my water haters a water body massage which went well.

    Tips please people.

For shorthairs, a wipe over with a damp fannel can help reduce their body temperature if they get over heated.

Wet paper towels are good if your cat will let you near him with it :D
