Yes, I have seen them on dogs before and the ones I have seen used have not had any effect. They do fit like a snug dog jacket. Be aware that the Thundershirt is a knockoff. The original and only patented pressure wrap, The Anxiety Wrap actually came out in 2001, eight years prior to the introduction of the Thundershirt and consists of a much better design. It was designed by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and TTouch Practitioner who experimented with over 90 different designs before coming up with her patented product, the only patented pressure wrap on the market. To read about the differences between the Thundershirt and the original Anxiety Wrap, see this article.

My older used to be yappy when tired so if I put his thundershirt on he went straight to sleep. My younger dog hates it. She stands still shaking so not worked for her.

As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and a Tellington TTouch Practitioner, I highly recommend and use Thundershirt for a variety of issues including noise/thunder anxiety and reactivity/fear issues with dogs and with cats. Linda Tellington-Jones, founder of the TTouch Method has been advocating the use of pressure/body wraps for decades and Thundershirt is the only wrap sold on the official TTouch website.

The main reasons I recommend the Thundershirt over other body wraps products: it is the easiest to put on and adjust, which minimizes stress for the animal as well as the pet parent, it has no cumbersome extra straps, and, in the vast majority of cases, eases anxieties, relaxes body tension, reduces arousal, etc. and Thundershirt has a 45 day money back guarantee.

Because Thundershirts are now so widely available at retail stores, veterinary offices, and direct from professional trainers, you can take your dog with you to try out which size is the best fit, which takes the guesswork out of determining sizes.

I have written extensively about the TTouch Method and body wraps for the Association of Pet Dog Trainer professional journal, The Chronicle of the Dog. You can download the entire series of articles from my website at: Dog Training Resources.

Tilly has a massive desire to get to other dogs, SOME owners see it as an attack but in reality she want to associate with the dogs, but she is a bit rough, our BC Glen is well used to her, they never fight but playtime can look like a WWE event. When out on a lead she will backflip, whimper, cry, get behind me, nip anything in range, her logic escapes her, we think she may have had a litter early on and wants to meet every other dog....

most of the time shes a good doggy

a few owners have said "let her off" (the lead) and once off she runs at the other dog and no warfare happens, one old boy has a docile Talbot hound hound who just looks at Tilly with disdain...

To be honest the video just looked like normal play.

Sounds as if Tilly just needs to be taught some manners when on the lead.

Have you thought about enroling at a decent training class where she can be socialised and learn her manners in a controlled environment?

As a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and highly experienced registered nurse with a previous specialty and certification in critical care, bachelor's degree in science, a master's in higher and adult education plus graduate education in canine biology and behavior, I highly recommend the original and only patented pressure wrap, The Anxiety Wrap.

Inventor, Susan Sharpe, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and TTouch Practitioner experimented with over 9o different prototypes before coming up with her original design in 2001, eight years before the Thundershirt was introduced. Sharpe consulted with Dr. Temple Grandin, famous for her work with food animals and inventor of the "squeeze machine" (Calming Effects of Deep Touch Pressure in Patients with Autistic Disorder, College Students, and Animals).

Sharpe and the original Anxiety Wrap are mentioned in one of Dr. Grandin's books, "Animals Make Us Human," page 54.

The Anxiety Wrap comes with a money-back guarantee and costs about the same as the Thundershirt. However it is a far superior product with clinically proven results which surpass the self-reported statistics by the Thundershirt Company.

In a recent study conducted by renowned veterinarian, Dr. Nicholas Dodman at Tufts University the original Anxiety Wrap was found to be effective in 89% of study participants. In my own practice I have found The Anxiety Wrap to be effective in 100% of the dogs I have used it on. Clients of mine who have purchased the Thundershirt by mistake saw absolutely no reduction in anxious behavior whatsoever.

I have used The Anxiety Wrap on severe cases of separation anxiety, thunderstorm phobia, general anxiety and more and it has been consistently effective. No one asked me to evaluate this product. I originally purchased the product for one of my own dogs several years ago and was so impressed that I have been recommending it to my clients with fearful and anxious dogs ever since.

The Anxiety Wrap is easy to put on and is much more adjustable than the Thundershirt. It also comes in more sizes for a better fit and can also be custom-sized for very tiny and very large dogs. The Thundershirt is little more than a snug-fitting dog jacket. The Anxiety Wrap provides much more body coverage and provides more maintained pressure due to the better fit and special fabric blend that to me resembles a ballet leotard. The Anxiety Wrap can be worn swimming and holds up well with repeat washing. It can even be used for cooling in warmer months. Unlike the Thundershirt, the velcro closures on The Anxiety Wrap are located away from the dog's face, an important consideration for sound sensitive dogs, which describes most dogs with anxiety.

The Anxiety Wrap is the only pressure wrap that uses both maintained pressure and acupressure. It is the only pressure wrap that has adjustable and removable rear end calming straps. Dogs hold tension in their hindquarters, like humans do their upper backs and necks and these straps aid in the reduction of stress. When I first purchased the Anxiety Wrap for my own dog I removed the straps, not fully understanding or valuing their usefulness. I now appreciate them and recommend keeping them on to my clients.

For more information about how the Thundershirt compares to the original, patented Anxiety Wrap, see this article that I wrote:Anxiety Wrap says...: Comparison of Anxiety Wrap, Thundershirt & Storm Defender

Animals Plus LLC, The Anxiety Wrap company provides not only a superior product but superior customer service. Personalized professional customer care and product support is provided by Certified Professional Dogs Trainers.

Besides being the original and only patented pressure wrap, another reason I prefer the Anxiety Wrap is that the company owner and staff are highly ethical individuals with ethical business practices. They do not engage in any inaccurate or misleading advertising and they have a genuine concern for the welfare of our canine friends. Susan Sharpe is an experienced Certified Professional Dog Trainer who used her knowledge of TTouch and her experience with dogs to come up with the original and highly effective, patented Anxiety Wrap.

As a medical professional and professional dog trainer who regularly works with fearful and anxious dogs, I give the original, patented Anxiety Wrap my full recommendation. It is superior to the Thundershirt in many ways.
