My darling daughter has invested in 2 male mice. Just over a week ago.
(they live in their home in her bedroom as i really cant do small rodents with hairless tails)
She cleans them out daily, but they do smell so.
We use megazorb as bedding material, do mice make this smell usually, or has she got a particularly smelly pair?

You mousie folk out there - help! How can she keep the smell down?

I think the cleaning out daily may be the problem. If you are cleaning them out daily then the lil guys will tend to scent mark more. A good clean out once a week should be enough:).

If they are male mice they will have a certain smell, the females arent as bad, either way daft as it sounds she is cleaning them too often, they will be frantically marking the cage as she is removing their smell every time she cleans it out. She should leave a small amount of bedding in the cage and clean out roughly once a week, they will get used to it hopefully and stop scent marking as often. Any piccies?, I love mouse pics:001_wub:

so whilst she was out at work last night i put 2 new mice in their cage (toy ones)

    well, at 5.30 :scared:
MUUUUMMMMM! Next time you give my mouse something to play with, tell me first! (missed a few words there)
