I'm surprised no one else has started a thread on this.

Theresa May exposed for exactly who she is.

She couldn't bring herself to "Apologise" to the people caught up in this, only the Caribbean leaders.

Brilliant speech from David Lammy on Monday. The look on Amber Rudd's face said it all.

She 'apologised' to Caribbean leaders, so I guess she must think everything is pretty much alright now.:Meh

Trouble is will she put right those wrongs? One only has to look at what the British Govt and her majesty did to the Chagos islanders to wonder if things will continue the way they have in the hope the shame of worthless politicians will be replaced by something else that catches the medias attention.

Another poisoning, another war, another terrorist attack, perhaps.

Trouble is she is apologising because she has been caught, and the EU will now look very hard at our provision for EU citizens in the negotiations, not because she means it.

This is from March 22, about the gentleman that I posted about in February (Albert Thompson)

David Lammy is doing a fabulous job and this truly shames us.

Anyone believe it's a 'coincidence' that the records which could prove right to remain for these people were destroyed by the Home Office?

    A very convenient 'mistake'.

The obsession from a certain former Home Secretary to reduce immigration figures probably, so much the UK has to sacrifice access to the single market but let's not go there.

Politicians only do what they believe the electorate wants. No votes if they don't. This particular group were just easy targets and it all shows in the figures come election time.

And yet, no one believed MrsZee when she told how attitudes had changed towards Finnish nationals living in Britain.:Facepalm

Time the Tories and the rest of their scurrilous crooked ilk were kicked out of government and thrown out of Britain once and for all.
See how they like the feeling of being alienated.

Perhaps resettle them on Gruinard Island or, if they prefer somewhere in the sun, Enewetak Atoll.

Well, if you're right they need to convince Theresa that typical Sun and Mail letters page contributors do not represent the views of the entire UK.

If the population saw immigration as their number one priority the National Front and/or BNP would have won power years ago.

And UKIP couldn't do better than one seat in a general election.

Unbelievable! May blames Labour for destroying the landing cards in 2009 apparently, even though it was reported they were destroyed in 2010.

While there's no evidence to suggest May had personally had a hand in their disposal, seeing Labour and Tory had Home Secretaries that year how on earth does she know this while being in opposition?

If she wants to proportion blame she should name names and give them a chance to admit guilt or defend themselves.

Who needs to vote for those fringe parties when the Tories are happy to accommodate those who do consider immigration as their number one priority?

What's funny though is that the decision to destroy the landing cards was made by the then Labour government in 2009.
What a racist Labour government they were!

No she won't, because it was the Conservatives who made that sign.
It was, however, Labour who made the decision to destroy the landing cards of the Windrush people, leading to them not being able to prove who they were.
Look at poor old Jezza when he found out. This is what happens when you get Diane Abbott to write your speaches:

Typical of May to pinpoint the blame without actual evidence to support her claim.

So, playing devils advocate and lets say she is right. What did she do about this on becoming H/S secretary herself. Didn't she enquire about the importance of these documents and fast-track these people to British Citizenship? No she didn't which constitutes incompetence on her part, if she cared at all.

Instead she bleated on about reducing immigration from day one. It would be no skin of her nose if anyone gets deported but seeing this is now in the news with the local elections coming up she denies any responsibility and puts the blame entirely on the previous Labour administration? Why keep quiet about it until today when challenged on the matter?

Arguably people could say the same about Corbyn over the re-emergence of the anti Semitism debate. At least Corbyn admitted he could have done better.

How do you know Dianne Abbott writes Corbyn's speeches? I'd have thought Corbyn is perfectly capable of writing his own. What have you got against her anyway?

    This is worth a read.

I was joking actually, because he got his numbers mixed up. Abbott is well known for having no grasp of numbers whatsoever.

    And now you are joking!

By the way, I don't care who screwed up with the Windrush thing. All Labour, all Conservative, six of one and half a dozen of the other. I don't care.
One lot are communists and one the other lot are globalists. Evil, evil, evil.

Destroying the cards is not the same as deporting people, and that happened on the Tory watch.

She did actually look cross today when she was called callous over this. It's a shame it overshadowed the carefully managed campaign about repealing anti-gay laws across the Commonwealth.

She was cross as she can't take criticism and was found out close to the local elections.

Yet she refuses to take any responsibility for her actions, not only in this case.

With eight years in power the excuse to blame Labour is wearing very thin. They had all this time to put right what they think Labour have done wrong.

It'll be the same with the Irish border. Despite unilaterally taking the UK out of the SM and CU she'll blame the other 'party" for it despite warning of this herself only two years ago......
