Does anyone mind this film from 1982? I wasn't born til 1988 but I remember my sister having it on video and me watching it alot in the early 90's. I've just rewatched it as a song was stuck in my head. I forgot how freaking weird and terrifying it is  Plus some of the singing is cringeworthy!

Some of the parts that freaked me out:

    The harpy with unnecessary boobage.

The tree that smothers Schmendrick with more unnecesary boobage after he accidentally enchants it.

The Red Bull was really scary tbh!

I always assumed this was a kids film but there's alot of creepy adult imagery in it. On a good note, as dorky as it is, there are some excellent songs in it. On a bit of a nostalgia trip :D

Love Love LOVE this film!!! Was my favourite film as a child and probably still is now! I bought it on DVD a few months ago, I hadnt watched it in about 10 years and still knew the words to the songs

I always found the harpie and the witch scary. The unicorn was just beautiful, im not a fan or cartoons or animated films at all, but theres something about the way this one was done that I love. The perfect childrens film for sure, actually has a real meaning rather than just being a vehicle for merchandise and money!

I remember that, my daughter had it, she was born in 1989, but she did have a copy, it was a bit dark to say the least. With a title like the last unicorn I suppose you would really expect to be a bit light and fluffy. Trying to remember the songs was it by a group called america or something?

Just checked the songs are on you tube, and were performed by America.
Another one of my daughters favourites was fern gulley the last rain forest that was a bit dark in places too.
