    Well I've been done.

Going to the MILs house last week minding my own business, havin a ciggie in me car and threw the butt out the window. didn't see anyone around me remotely official looking, but have received a fine of £80 :cryin:

Yeah I know it's still litter, but I'd be more impressed if the ****** that did me would get themselves into the town properly and sort out those that dump cans etc.

Another money making scheme for the local authority - which I think is a joke. There are many times the bin men wont take an extra bag of rubbish that wouldnt fit it the bin but I dont see anyone fining them!

I would appeal it. What proof do they have?

A local shopgirl that works her backside off at the estate shop until 11 every night got a similar fine in the town for a cigarette end.

The estate is filthy with rubbish like you wouldn't believe...the local shop frontage looks like a dustbin lorry has emptied out there. But you'll never see a litter warden round here...because they know the local druggies and hoodies would rough them up...so they stay down town where they can safely screw the public for the odd fag end.

Can anybody tell me how a cigarette end justifies a fine like that?...surely £10 would be enough. The cop shows on TV regularly show drunken yobbos cursing and swearing being pinned down and handcuffed by police.

Arrested they get taken to the station where more often than not the commentator says they got an £80 fine under section 5 public disorder...How can a dropped fag end warrant the same fine as that?
