I had a rocky start with my kitten, he broke his femur on his first night with me and let me tell you, that's in at the deep end for someone who's never owned a cat before!

But thanks to PF I feel I am off on the right track, despite this. I have read and read, and thanks to your invaluable advice, I have switched succesfully from non clumping clay litter (what a pain!) to OKO Plus (joy!), and from Felix AGAIL to Animonda Carny/Grau (let's just say things have improved in the smelliness department from both of these changes). Without you I would be feeding him Felix and RC biscuits and not knowing any better! Unfortunately he's still on cage rest most of the time, but he is doing really well on all other fronts.

And today I bought him some beef heart from Tesco, cut a strip off and after much tentative licking and a little batting about, he was :001_tt1::001_tt1: chewing away and purring like it was the best treat ever. And he's teething so I think he liked the chomping. I'm so enthused with my success I'm going on to poussin wings at the weekend (determined to prove my vet wrong with her statement that he will need dentals because he's not eating dry food)

Anyway sorry for the ramble but just wanted to say thanks for all the advice that you regularly put out there - for a new cat owner like me it is great (and gives my poor vet a rest from all the questions!)

I can honestly say I had nothing to do with any advice given to you, I am usually on dog chat but I read this and thought how lovely of you to write it :) I hope it won't be too long before your kitty's leg heals.

I don't think I have anything to with any advice you have received either - how could I possibly give advice without a photo to go by? ;)

Lovely post, now show me the kitten

Heh well I had been having trouble getting him to sit still for photos as his cage is in quite a dark spare room.. but I have attached a couple where you can see him rather than a blurry eye as he tries to attack my camera strap!

    Awwww, what a cutie!

Not a face to be argued with, either - as soon as that leg of his is up to it he's going to start getting you well trained, you can just tell! :D

What an absolute sweetie :001_wub::001_wub: I'm so glad that PF members have been so helpful to you and hope that the little man is completely better soon :) What's his name by the way?

Yeah I love exotics' grumpy faces, I can't wait for him to be a big grumpy mancat. That and the way their face disappears when they close their eyes.. Like a pom pom!

He's actually not as grumpy as he looks ;)

No.. Not at the moment anyway. Maybe when I retire ha ha! Can you show a broken legged cat? Don't the judges feel the legs and stuff? He's got a metal rod in. I got him from Naboo Exotics in South London, they have been great especially with my panic broken cat moments!

You could show him in the pedigree pet section. There, his poorly leg wouldn't count against him.
