After 3 weeks of waiting we finally brought our puppy home :001_tt1: although we were both quite nervous we were equally if not more so excited, it was an hours drive down to Burton-on-Trent but a two hour drive back with the Friday rush hour traffic and silly drivers crashing on the M1.

Teddy coped really well in his crate with Lauren my fiancée sat in the back comforting him, i cant say he was too impressed with my driving tho.

We finally got him home with no accidents or sickness and when he was taken out the car he promptly did his business

We got him settled in the house and let him explore his new home and garden (even had to build him an intermediate step to help him get up on to the grass :D

Fed and watered around 10pm we settled him down in the utility room (of which he had already chosen as his room of choice) for the night fully prepared for a sleepless night with an onslaught of crying and whining, this did not happen, not a peep out of the wee man, so much so that i fell asleep and missed his 12pm toilet break, woke up at 2:30am fully expecting to have to clean up a mess i donned my slippers and housecoat and boldly went forth, there he was sat upright looking up the stairs as i came down with a strained expression on his face, no mess in sight i opened the door and he ran straight out and did his business, to a sigh of relief from myself

Brought him back in, toweled him off and snuck off back to bed, thats when the crying started, after 10 mins Lauren got up and went to the toilet, as soon as the toilet flushed the crying stopped, i think my sneaking off started the crying and the noise from the toilet reassured him that we were still there, that was the last we heard of him till 6:30am when i woke to the sound of him whining, i went downstairs to a crosslegged puppy staring wantingly at me, as soon as i enteded the utility room he saw the finished line and relaxed, a little dribble and a dash to the door and he was back outside doing his business :)

I knew Chows were clean dogs but we were both impressed with how clean he's been and the purchase of puppy pads seems a little pesimistic of us.

Saturday was mostly spent being fussed over by family members and Teddy took it all in his stride even being abused by a toddler.
we took him up to my parent to introduce him to Sam whos going to be his playmate whilst were at work and the introductions went well, with a bit of air snapping from Sam when Teddy got a bit to much for him but they soon settled down.

Oops think I got a bit carried away I better post some pictures before a riot starts....

What a gorgeous bundle of the cutest fluffiness, he is adorable. I can see why you called him Teddy! Great start, what a good little boy to hold on until you can let him out , and to settle at night so quickly too. Well done Teddy!

I wish I could accept responsibility and say I trained him, but its all him. He's such a chilled out well behaved puppy and settling in better than we could have ever imagined.

That doesn't mean he's not a little mischeivous when he wants to be, he thinks curtains are for swinging on :hand:

Thanks, I think your making him blush with all the nice comments, I can't tell for all the fur

He's currently asleep in his new found hiding place behind the sofa after spending an hour with Sam.
