DSCN5429.JPG Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum but felt I just had to tell you about my darling Ted, who was put to sleep a week ago aged 17 1/2 years. I am heartbroken. We adopted him when he was 10 from a local rescue centre, we were told at the outset he had on-going health problems, but this didn't deter us - he was the one, it was love at first sight. He has given us so much joy over the years and when my Husband died 18 months ago, it was Ted who got me through the worst time of my life, I don't know what I would have done without him. So that was Ted, loyal, loving, funny, intelligent - his only flaw - he wasn't at all keen on other dogs, but I think this is a common trait with Patterdales. Although we had a number of dogs throughout our married life and I loved them all, it is Ted who will always be special to me. Thank you for reading this, it has helped to tell you about him. Anita

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost him. I've taken on an old dog in the past myself and it is the one drawback. But you gave him love and happiness in his last 7 years and for that you can be proud of yourself.
