The supreme cat show is on 26 October. Is anyone planning to go??
I am contemplating it, tho not with a cat!
Not with cat but hopefully I'll be coming up with Tiny Tim's mummy
Where is it and what’s the entry fee?
I have never been to one and may think about it
It's at the Birmingham NEC, tickets are £16
Thank you @Psygon
That was terribly lazy of me.
Will look at train fares
Is anyone else shocked at how much the price has gone up? I was appalled at the entry fee and ticket prices are bonkers! There's really not enough there to justify the price
Its about £50 train fair plus entry. Looking at £100 to go.
It's a little over £50 for me as well for the train.
I was a bit surprised, I'm not sure what it was last year but thought it was closer to £10.00
I think it was about £13ish? I know it's only £3 more but there's also the booking fee on top.
The price to show has gone up too. I'm doing exhibition as I've lost faith in stewards altogether and won't let anyone handle my cat now, but before I swapped my entry it was going to cost around £70 for the cat, me, the husband, and a catalogue! That's a ridiculous amount of money for one show
I agree, it's terribly expensive. I could justify the cost when it used to be a real spectacle with hundreds of vendors, lots of interesting things to see and do and, of course, the star attractions - the cats, which numbered many, many hundreds. Almost too much to see in one day.
It's such a shame, the way it has dwindled and I'm amazed they can still justify holding it at the NEC.
The first time I ever visited was in 2012 I think it was, possibly 2011, and it was huge. Over 800 cats, so many stalls including a lot of the raw food companies, there were some talks and demonstrations, the two large halls were filled to capacity and there was a real buzz in the air.
I went again the following year and it was similarly huge.
Then I exhibited for the first time in 2014 and I was shocked, it was pathetic just about scraping 500 cats, minimal stalls, no atmosphere at all.
I'm not looking forward to this year, it will be a long day of not very much to do. We will probably drop into one of the other conventions on the day too.
They need to move away from the NEC, but they won't whilst RC continues to blackmail with their support. They will remove their support if it leaves the NEC, although why anyone would want the sponsorship of those crooks is beyond me!
I was told off for being shocked at another registries show being twice that.
It's hard to find an alternative venue. It's great for people travelling by train, and for foreign judges coming in by plane. It's in the middle of the country, most of England is within 3 hours drive (75 % of the UK's population), huge car parks, well organised...
To be fair, it costs a lot when we go to normal shows...
2 cats, 2 double pens, catalogue, entry for my husband and then car hire ...
So yeah, any show is expensive for us - I think we are probably mad haha
I live 5-10 mins from the NEC so my friend and I will go
The ticket price seems reasonable to me. The only thing I find ludicrous is they charge a delivery fee for if you select printing your tickets at home?!?!!!!!!
In past years you've been able to buy tickets at the venue so you could avoid booking and delivery charges.
I am afraid I am giving the Supreme a miss this year, this is the only year I have missed it (except the year I went to the World Cat Show) but I just can’t justify the cost with our house move.
I won’t be going, it all adds up with the cost of getting there and parking.
But thanks for the link... think I’ve found where one of Lola’s last years ss presents came from and I’m looking for another as she loves it at the moment.
