When outside earlier I could hear a Kestrel, couldn't see it though.

    I don't think I've heard a kestrel before, that's made my day :)

The only time I've heard Kestrel is when they are either feeding or calling young :)

I hit one once with a golf ball :( Hit a 7 iron into a bunker and a seagull came flying out, feathers everywhere so i presumed i'd hit it, but as we got closer a kestrel came out the bunker walking like he was drunk, one of the guys i was playing with suggested we put him (saying him coz i can't be bothered writing him/her every time) out of his misery, he was told he was an idiot by all other players as i was getting my phone out to try and contact RSPB then he squawked and flew off straight over us, must have just been stunned. I guess he was about to eat the gull.

I know it isn't funny, but that did make me giggle.

Glad the kestrel was all right.

Oh it was one of those "Funny when its over" things. And the guy who said "wring its neck" got his comeuppance a few weeks later, i was hitting a ball out of a gorse brush (are you getting any clues as to how good i was) and the ball hit a root and flew of sideways hitting him in the head, he went down like a stone. Ended up ok apart from a huge bump though.
