As you probably know, I work in a rescue centre and have recently been much more involved with the dogs. On Tuesday, I started a thread about 13-year-old Sally who had been rescued after being abused in the street (http://www.petforums.co.uk/dog-chat/329951-just-when-i-thought-couldnt-get-any-worse.html).

I promised to keep you updated and I am delighted to tell you that she was rehomed yesterday!!

One of the trustees has taken her on and will keep her for the rest of her life, however long that may be. Her and her husband often take on elderly/ sick dogs so she will be living a life of luxury with lots of other oldies. In fact, they had a chicken slow roasting when they came to collect her, so she could have a special treat as soon as she arrived to start her new life. Not bad, eh?!

Good luck, Sally. You touched my heart in the short time I knew you and I am thrilled to see you going to such a fantastic retirement home xXx

Lucky Girl at last, she looks so sweet how could anyone be so cruel even if they found her a 'burden'

just read your other thread, poor baby, well done to that brave lady who stepped in and possibly saved this little girls life, it's great she didn't have to stay to long, sounds like she is off to a fab home to retire, it's always lovely to hear of a happy ending wishing Sally all the best in her new home

    I don't know, it's horrible isn't it? :(

All she asks for is someone to keep her company and the occasional stroll and maybe a little doggy meeting every now and again- at 13, she's not a high energy, difficult to stimulate pooch, she's a lovely old lady with a big heart :001_wub:

I'm sure he will- we're still struggling to get him into the kennel but he's getting better, slowly but surely. Managed to get him in the dog lounge, too, for a little while and though he was uneasy, we will work with him to try and get him used to it in time :)

He was neutered yesterday but only had one testicle so the poor boy's had a big op to find the retained one. He'll be getting lots of TLC as I imagine he's feeling very sorry himself.

Hopefully, the neutering will really help us deal with his anxieties and behaviour, too. As it was, he was a humping machine!

ETA- Here he is! (I'll get some proper photos of him soon :) )

I do, too. It's something I would really love to do at some point but I just don't know if I'd cope with it :(

Takes someone very special to take on an animal knowing time is limited :)

Storm looks a beautiful dog, fingers crossed somebody can take him and spoil him rotten too.
