Stinging Nettles

    I got attacked by stinging nettles in my garden today, my legs are fine now but my hand still stings!! I stopped gardening at about 4pm!! I can't even hold a pen :(

    Ouch they hurt don't they. Do you have any dot leaves you could use.

    I don't - to be honest don't know if they'd help much as it's more inside my fingers thats tingling if that makes sense?

    Rub the area with the inside of a banana skin, works for bites, so should work for stings too. lol

    have you got any anti histamine tablets? if you have take one it should help :)

    you could try putting some bicarb of soda (make it into a paste) on them

    Have no bananas, antihistamine tablets or bicarb!! lol we have nothing in this house!

    Sorry to hear you were attacked...did they chase you or was it an ambush??? I was savaged by a cowslip once...:laugh:

    Know how you feel I fell off my bike into a great pile of them, went in to shock and was burning for days! they reckon they are good for arthritis tho which is crap too Im riddled with it:frown:

    If you can find some stinging nettles nearby, dock leaves usually grow with them. Could try vinegar?? or aloe vera if you have any.

    booo i was got in my garden the other week too....straight through a gardening glove! its put me off weeding lol.

    i was putting germailine on mine, it stopped the stinging for 20 minsish, and i know what you mean by inside....bloody painfull isnt it :(

    not sure if it's from the stingers but my thumb muscles where i was stung hurt so much i can't write! i struggled so much a work today!
