**skip to page two for the finished pics :) **

I showed the start to Dally Banjo earlier, and she gave me a bit more courage to pop it in a thread. I've enjoyed reading other peoples arty threads, so here goes  This is my first commissioned bit of art- it's oils on canvas, and I only started today. I had to re-use an old canvas, so it still shows through a bit now but won't when it's finished.

The colours are just a base and a guide to the markings right now, the finished thing will be more dun coloured. Tomorrow I am lowering the skyline (the grass is too high right now) and starting detail work.

So, here goes! Oh, also, as per usual the pics are awful as they're taken on my webcam, so a lot of detail and the correct colour is lost :(

    This morning:

    Now:

    And a bit further back:

I hope to be finished by Wednesday or Thursday, I tend to paint quickly, but it depends on how thick the paint is and how fast it dries.

It is looking really good so far, I`m glad you put it up, I love looking at other artists work :D and from what I can see your work is fab, well done you !!!

I remember when I used to rush my work, but it really pays to do alittle each day and pace yourself ... no matter how eager you are to complete it :p

Really looking forward to seeing the completed painting :)

Wow, that looks really good - oh how I wish I could draw and paint but unfortunately I think I was stood at the back of the queue when those talents were given out. You have a talent.

She's a GSD, it's a memorial piece :( She's very beautiful in the pic I'm using. I still have a lot of the fur and colour to sort out :p

This is the other one I'm working on, it's a birthday present for a friend, another memorial piece, of her wolfhound cross boy who passed on just over a year ago, I just started it today, so I have a long way to go, and a lot of the detail is lost, again, but here he is-

I finished the GSD this morning. I had to put it away from me so I stopped fussing with it. I also have come close to finishing the much smaller painting for my friend. Thanks for following the progression, I hope to improve a lot as I go along!
