My 3 year old rescue Staffy Missy, had surgery to remove a mast cell tumour yesterday. Her hearbeat slowed towards the end of the surgery and as a result the vet thinks she’s suffered a stroke. She hasn’t recovered from the anaesthetic, and deteriorated further during the night.

This morning she was totally unresponsive, unaware of her surroundings and unable to move. She was transferred to The Queen Mother’s Animal Hospital today where she is in critical care. Missy only joined our family 2 months ago, but already she is loved by us all. I am in shock and am devastated. The next 24-48 hours are critical. If anyone through experience can offer any hope I would be very grateful. Many thanks.

I did have a dog who suffered two strokes - one fairly minor and the second a major.

    Not in these circumstances though.

All you can do is trust in your Vet right now.

Hoping for the best outcome for you.
