    Hi all!

My Tom has a problem with his paw, one of the pad was swollen since he was a baby (he is four now). The pad seemed bloated and scabby but it was soft and there was no sign for an an inflammation. I have consulted two vets and both have told me to do nothing, as it wasn't inflamed and he had obviously no pain. But roughly four weeks ago it has changed into an excoriation and the wound doesn't heal properly. My vet has tried it with different salves and lotions but with no effects. Now he seems also at his wits' end, and has suggested to take a tissue-sample respectively a biopsy and maybe remove the claw!! Has anybody a similar problem or an idea what it could be? The last thing I want is to have him amputated a claw:confused:.

    Many thanks
