Mongooses pass traditions on to their young, too
this is NOT a dog, but a small-brained carnivore - a banded mongoose, learning thru social modeling
how to get food out of hard-cased critters from an adult.
many ppl including some trainers + even some scientists (but not vet-behaviorists or CAABs)
insist that dogs do not learn anything from watching other dogs - despite dog-specific research that has shown imitation.
some folks are so hung-up on making humans different, they cannot bear seeing commonalities; i think if we did not have
a lot of shared interests, behaviors, emotions, and so on, we would not enjoy dogs as much as we obviously do.
cheers,
--- terry
PS - i wish they had included a video...
