I think the worm treatment has 'burnt' dee :( I didn't notice until I picked her up and just happened to rub that part and feel a scab. It was scabbed over so presumably healing although today the centre bit of the scab has 'dropped' off. It isn't sticky but looks a little raw. She has lost some fur from that area but as she is semi-long haired it isn't noticable without looking for it. Have just had a good look and she was fine with me looking/touching it. Shall I just keep an eye on it? Have reported it to vet who is going to report it to the manufacturer. Sam was fine although Mark said at the time I hadn't got it onto Sam's neck properly - possibly a good thing.

I feel like a horrible person but had to worm them as Sam had been sick and it was a possible issue. Had ordered some spot-on flea treatment but think I might skip it now

Hiya

I had the same thing happen with a flea treatment, and spoke to the vet who said it could just be a one-off and not to worry, but to try again, and then if it happened again to move to a different product.

Like your Sam, Henry wasn't bothered by it, but it did look a bit odd to me...

re they adult cats? It's just that I went to buy some from the vet today and the woman almost sold me the wrong one - I needed the kitten version not the adult as he's not very heavy yet! Just wondering if the treatment may have been too strong?

The stuff I use is called Stronghold - it does worms & fleas, not sure if that might suit his skin better?
