Hiya, was just wondering how many of you have sang along happily to a song not knowing your singng the wrong lyrics :D
I used to think Fatboy Slims Arms Race, was 'this ain't a scene, it's a god damn arse face' lol, wasn't until my hubby laughed and showed me the song online, supposed to be arms race
Also the Manic Street Preachers Suicide is painless, I used to think they said, 'you're gonna shoot us dead with daffodils' instead of decadence, never made any sense to me but I thought I was right lol. There's been more but I can't think of them at the minute.
So anybody else mixed their words up? :D

UB40 - I Got You Babe - I used to sing "I got you bee" (when I was tiny)
Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On - I went to sleep listening to it and when I woke up all I could hear was "my hot dogs go on" instead of " my heart does go on".. even to this day I still only hear hot dogs.

Hmmm, I know there's more, will have a think lol

Oh and my sister when she was little "Hop to the city" instead of "Hot in the city" and yeah I'm guilty of singing along whether or not I know the words.

My daughter used to sing different words to things - the main one I remember was Paul Simon's 50 ways to leave your lover, which became 50 ways to leave your Mother :

I do stuff like that but it's usually singing offensive stuff about the OH while he's watching in disdain.

Lol, that just reminded me of another Robbie song I used to sing, she's the one. I thought it was 'I was hurt, she was mean' lol. I sang that for months, it was only when I got with my hubby a few years later that he corrected me

Wow!!! Great minds think alike. I had this very thought this morning as I was listening to Third World - Now that we've found love - on the radio!!!

    Although the words are:

"Make daddy shoot, make daddy shoot,
make daddy shoot, shoot, shoot all over the place"

I have ALWAYS sung (and did this morning):

"Make Tattie Soup, Make Tattie Soup,
Make Tattie Soup, Soup, Soup all over the place......"

Another one, which I am DELIGHTED to say I am not alone in, is Queens Bohemien Rhapsody when they sing:

    "Save me from this Monstrosity......"

and NOT, as I thought for about 25 years,

"Save me from these Pork Sausages....."

It's not MY fault if singers can't enunciate properly..... :eek:hmy:

Last week I fell asleep on the settee and when I went to bed couldn't sleep so decided to listen to the radio on my walkman. I heard a song I hadn't heard before and quite liked it so thought I would try and remember it the next day and ask my daughter what it was. I thought the lyrics were a bit strange though - 'I want to be next to you, like a goat, like a goat, like a goat'. When the song went off the DJ then said it was called 'Black and Gold by Sam Sparro. He was singing black and gold - not 'like a goat'..:eek::eek: I still keep singing like a goat though...
