Please let us know how he gets on.
Arthur has lost another 200g this week so I'll be ringing the vets later.
What tests should I expect them to do? And this may seem like an odd question but do I use the insurance for tests?
He's still wanting to eat grass as well.
Physical exam & bloods (I imagine including thyroid levels) would be the starting point. If they find anything on the physical exam then XRay and/or ultrasound.
I’m sorry to hear he’s still losing, agree with OS, bloods to start with then go from there. You can use the insurance & then any treatment would be an ongoing claim.
Thank you @OrientalSlave and @Matrod
Got an appointment for 4:15 today.
Poor little chap, hoping for some good news. Big hugs x
On the vets scales he came up with having lost 100g since last week, not 200g. As he hasn't been sick since and is generally still acting himself, we decided the best option was to wait for a couple of weeks and then I'll take him back just to be weighed.
The more I think about it, the more I think the vet said weigh him in two weeks last week anyway
Arthur also decided to scratch the vets lip as he was trying to escape her grasp Apparently he wanted to stay at the vets more than he wanted to stay home
Hope Arthur continues to improve
Input / Output can affect weight gain / lose so maybe that was something to do with it?
Not sure, he's been eating a little less than normal I'd say but not enough to loose that much weight I don't think.
Did the vet have a look at his teeth?
Yep and his ears. Both are fine.
Poor Arthur, don’t be a skinny minny now young man, get that weight back on! Hope he’s not feeling too yucky.
