I dyed my daughter's hair purple as she's going to a punk party this afternoon, stupidly as it's a wash in wash out dye I thought I could get away with not wearing gloves. I hope it's out before Monday or I'll be the laughing stock of college

Is there a way to get it off? There must be an old wives trick somewhere

I've done that with permanent black dye before (it makes my scalp itchy). I look really grubby for a week or so. Hopefully yours will come out easier since it's not permanent :D

Did anyone used to do that thing of colouring their hair with food colouring when they were young? Or was I just a hobo :yikes:

My sister in law said baby oil but I don't have any! I might try some sunflower oil in a bit, I'm still in awe of the electric purpleness of my hands right now

Try some nail polish remover if you have any.
