    I'm away from home at the moment... but my mum just texted me to say that Sausage bit her this morning and must have drawn blood because she's gone to hospital to have a tetanus jab :S

    I want to go home now and look after poor Sausage... she must have been holding him wrong or something to make him bite her as he's bitten me once and my boyfriend once but it didn't draw blood either time and that was when we first got him :(

    I don't know why she would have been holding him in the first place actually as she doesn't really like him she says he smells :eek:

    Why has your mother rushed out to get a tetanus jab? Does she not keep up to date with tetanus vaccinations?

    You should always be up to date with this vaccine, even if you don't own any animals.

    If she doesn't like him, do you think she could be making it up?

    Judging by your videos of Sausage, he certainly doesn't look like a biter, hope your mum is ok though, when are you going home?

    Yeah, hamster bites really hurt, i've had 1 bad one in the past, it stung so much.
    Maybe sausage got a lil scared or startled :(
    You need tetanus injections every 10 years :)

    Maybe she woke him up when he didnt want to be disturbed?
    I have never been bitten that bad tbh... Even when Penny went psycho after having the babies..

    I've never had a tetanus jab btw :blushing:

    :lol::lol:

    That may be it then...
    They cant see very well and rely on their sense of smell and hearing...
    If she smelt of food then he probably thought it was food that he was biting...
    Tell her to wash her hands before she holds him next time to make sure that there is absolutely no food smell on her hands... Also, she can rub some of his bedding in her hands so she smells familiar to him

    Hope this helps :D
