Just figured out why. He tends to get his bedtime kibble before 11pm and its late tonight so he's all excited thinking its coming soon and hinting

He ran off to his crate, mumbled a growl, trotted over swishing his tail and has been pacing and tail swishing ever since occasionally coming and resting his face on my laptop in a 'Can I can I can I have it yet!?' kind of way. He's now sat at my feet tail swishing on my boots

Its really funny he never gets this excited, its quite nice
