I’ve recently got myself some runner ducklings. We have made a lovely enclosure with grass bank, trees for shade and even planted up some spare cabbages and sprouts to rummage around. But as soon as we put them in the enclosure ( from their overnight stay in the garage) they head straight to the sunken boat (as a pond) and stay there all day. We have to usher them out to feed and warm up. They are now 6 weeks old. Is this usual? Why don’t they take themselves out for a feed? Should we limit their use to the pond? They happily just doze on there too. Any suggestions?

I too have runner ducks you should get them a kid paddling pool and let them swim in that then you can take them out yourself.
