What was once the wildlife infested roof space in an old traditional style Finnish Log Cottage is slowly but surely being transformed into a spacious living room.

There's still a long way to go yet but at least, this year, the new roof seems to be keeping the snow outside.

You'll have to wrap up nice and warm because the snow is approximately a metre deep in some places. But don't worry because I'm sure Oscar will help to thaw you out.

For now it is lovely. But our main concern is for how long?
Each year the lumber merchants tear down more and more trees for industry and each year they get closer and closer to our land.
The constant deprivation and thinning of adjacent areas has greatly redĂșced the sound proofing from the main road (not the village road) which is approximately 10 kilometres away, The noise pollution alone destroys the natural beauty.

But it's only -27C which, as it just so happens, is just the right temperature for ice swimming. If you're crazy of course.
