Roman Snails

    Lots of rain here yesterday, so decided to go and see how many roman snails I could spot. Highest number I've ever seen, I was quite late because I had to work and they were nearly all heading for cover but saw 25.

    This one was a right poser on top of a tree stump :D

    @rona I quite like snails , I hate it when I tread on them . :(
    How big are the Roman snails , its hard to judge from the photos,

    I collected a few empty shells and found a normal garden snail shell from the garden

    I'd say about twice as big as a normal large garden snail, wouldn't you?

    @rona Thank you . Wow, what a difference !

    OT saw a buzzard locally last week along the A40 west london . It unusual though we get lots of red kites

    We have more Buzzards than Red Kite. I must see a Buzzard on virtually every walk. I have seen a few more Kites this year but still, that's only a few

    A few different types here, don't ask me what they are though as I have no idea. Found on Portland, Weymouth, Dorset.

    They have caught a few of our continental friends heading out of the area with bags full of snails :mad:
