Robbie is a 12 year old springer spaniel and is currently on foster in Newcastle Emelyn, West Wales.

    Dog status: Very good indeed.
Cat status: Very good, he is also good with horses and chickens etc.
Child status: Excellent with the very dog savvy 2 year old he is living in foster care with
House training: Robbie spent a long time living outside and although he has been clean in his current foster home we do anticipate there could be issues with house training in the future.
Home alone: Has been fine with the company of other dogs.
Basic training: Robbie has lost his hearing and does not yet respond to hand signals but this could be worked on in time.

As a rescue primarily dealing with dogs with no history from the council pound it is not often that we know what has happened to a dog before we meet them. However, with Robbie we know he lived in a back garden without stimulation, chained up with just a dirty kennel to call his own. They say a picture says a thousand words and the picture of Robbie in his previous home says it all.

His past life does mean he has a few quirks and he will be looking for a very special home. He is not used to living in a normal household environmant and can panic if he feels confined or out of his depth. In his current foster home he has found his niche using the conservatory as his main living space, a nice mix between being outside and learning to come in.

Robbie is just the most loving and affectionate dog ever. Hew adores people of all ages, shapes and sizes. He is living in a foster home with a 2 year old boy and Robbie is his very gentle and adoring shadow. He would be able to be rehomed with dog savvy children aged 2 years plus.

Robbie is very good with other dogs and is living with a varied pack of shapes, sizes and personalties at the moment. He is not 'in your face' with other dogs and would love canine company in his new home to help him to settle in. He is good with cats and is also living with horses and chickens and does not show any interest in them.

Robbie has lost the majority of his hearing which means training will need to be tackled afresh as he can not hear a verbal command and does not respond to the hand signals. He also has very few teeth left and struggles to carry toys around now although he does love to chase them. He will need a home with secure fencing as he has still got a lot of spring despite his age.

Robbie absolutely loves the car and will happily jump in at any time.

I will leave the final word to his foster mum - 'He’s a wonderful character and deserves a home where he can be treated like a king.'

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from Home - http://hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk

Robbie has moved to a specialist rescue who can cater for his needs and is no longer looking for a home
