This morning I had to put my last rat down, my baby boy was struggling to breathe and has been for the last few months. He was 20 months old. Went to the vets this morning. We are going to bury him in the garden where his brothers are. He's been alone for 8 months. He had a reoccuring respiratory infection and he has been getting worse even though we were giving him medication. He didn't move from his hammock, and a couple times found him on the floor of the cage, gasping for air. He was getting stressed every time we tried to give him medication.
I really think rats are lovely pets, so loving and playful but we aren't getting any more.

    Sorry about poor Jaffa :(
Rats really are lovely little creatures, it's just such a shame they don't live long.
