Sad to reflect the passing of Richard Baker.

Like Kenneth Kendall he was a unique broadcaster.

Richard didn't only read the news, he was the voice of Mungo and Midge in my childhood favourite, "Mary Mungo and Midge".

Even aged 4 at the time of its original broadcast I recognised the voice from the BBCtv News.

He also voiced a 1966 single, " The Voice of Britain" for a calendar promotion and a version of Benjamin Britten's "Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra" and "Peter & the Wolf" for the Classics For Pleasure. Several other projects too, such as a presenter for Classic FM in later years.

He also showed a good sense of humour, appearing as himself presenting the News on Monty Python's FC.

Thank you for the memories Richard. RIP

How sad. I agree with the above, part of my childhood too along with Kenneth Kendall.

    Remember him from childhood.

Very sad for his friends and family but 93 is a great age.
