The flip flop thread got me thinking.

I need new summer footwear. Got a pair of trainer looking sandals and crocs for walking Heidi but need something a little nicer to look at.

Unfortunately I have achilles tendon probs, sorely knees and a bunion (yes, I'm one of those people who shouldnt be let loose with flip flops) that needs to be hidden.

So nice ergonomic, kind and comfy footwear suggestions please.

i live in canvas trainery-shoe things all year round so dont ask me
had to replace them yesterday as i can put my fingers through the bottom and theyre eating every pair of insoles i put in them :crying:

i'd still prefer to wander around in socks/barefeet 24/7 though

I'm exactly the wrong person to ask because I'll either be in trainers or new rock boots. I really don't like sandals :)

I wear this sort of thing in summer - I buy sketchers but I think there are imitations out there too. They do heaps of different colours and styles. They're perfect when you need a proper shoe but are much cooler.

Thanks for the ideas, will be looking at clarks and m&s.
Tried a pair of those pretty lacy ballerina type thingy's but they weren't comfy.
Tried Flyflots but dont get on with them either:(

Are Birkenstocks as good as they say they are??

I had some Birkenstocks years ago - they took some getting used to but once I'd worn them in they were fantastic :) They lasted years - infact the only reason I still don't have them is because I left them somewhere.

I really like these sketchers (I wore them all around Australia) - really pretty and not to flimsy.

  11. I still say and always will that "vans" slip on's are the most comfy shoes out there. I have really bad problems with my feet and vans are the only thing that makes walking comfy.

    I have this colour.

I like TheShoeShop, mainly Pavers and Flyflots but as you say you didn't get on to well with them. I'd still take a look at TheShoeShop website though, it has tons of different brands and all made for comfort :)

TK Maxx has Birkenstocks cheap at the moment.

I got some and they are super comfy. I got my littlest one some pretty ones too (different name but made by Birkenstock) and they seem really comfy on her and were only £9.99.

Converse trainers are thin and breathable. Can get 'fake' ones dead cheap in supermarkets :)

Dolly shoes are nice too x
