At 6:15pm today (31-05-10) Spooky passed away peacefully in my arms. I held her and told her to let go as she was lightly gasping for breath. I told her she is going to a nice place where she will be young again. I kissed her tiny frail head and told her that she was very much loved even though she was a stubborn madam and had huge cattitude. She was 17yrs old and had become frail and weak this past few days. She came to us as a rescue early 2009.
Nobody ever came forward to offer her a retirement home.
Night Night Spooky sleep tight little angel. xxxx ♥

    ~~ A PETS PLEA ~~

If it should be that I grow frail and weak

And pain should keep me from my sleep

Then you must do what must be done

For this, the last battle, can't be won.

You will be sad- I understand

Don't let your grief then stay your hand

For this day, more than all the rest

Your love and friendship stand the test.

We've had so many happy years

What is to come can hold no fears

You'd not want me to suffer, so

When the time comes, please let me go.

I know in time you too will see

It is a kindness you do to me

Although my tail, it's last has waved

From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Don't grieve that it should be you

Who has decided this thing to do

We've been so close, we two these years

Don't let your heart hold any tears.

My thoughts are with you. Spooky would have been very happy to spend her last months with you. You were there for her right to the end. A loving caring person is all that every puss cat wishes for and spooky find that with you.
I didn't read the poem as you know i'm going through a bad time myself with Harley. So it doesn't take much for me to be in tears.
R.I.P Dear Spooky and run free at rainbow bridge xx

very sorry to hear about your loss.

at least you can be sure that at least in her last year of life she was loved more than ever and wanted for nothing.

she will be enjoying her time chasing butterflies over the bridge.
