I have to collect a stool sample from McKenzie. She will toilet between 7-7.30am but the vet doesn’t open until 8. What do I do with it while I’m waiting for the vet to open? Do I refrigerate it? (I have one of the little plastic pottles from the vet).
As far as I know it doesn't really matter... I had to collect a 3 day stool sample and asked about keeping the sample in the fridge but my vet said, you really don't have to at all, especially when it's near food! Not that I wouldn't have kept the outside as clean as possible at all.
I don't think it needs refrigerating.I regularly have Maci's worm count done,so that he doesn't have unnecessary worm treatments. The sample gets put in the post to the lab in the container that comes in the kit.Result come back very quickly and efficiently.
