Hello, just a quick question!
My 4month old chihuahua has been on ziwipeak, I've tried a couple of different foods but always struggled with loose stools.
Ziwipeak was the better but I've been feeding along with canned pumpkin to keep them firm, I decided to give raw ago and he's currently on half ziwipeak/half raw until I finish whats left in the bag of the zpeak,

Anyways to the point his stools have really firmed up, best since I've had him as so far his meals have been very bone heavy, poussin wings and back. I'm just wondering are bone heavy meals okay as long as it doesn't get to the point of constipation? keeping in the mind the correct balance of the other things, organ, meat etc though still currently on the first stage, etc but is it a case of just playing it by ear so to speak? loose stools, more bone etc? too hard, cut back? does it matter otherwise?

I've fed almost purely meaty bones to Bear this week due to runny poos. You need to find the right balance for your dog and it can be trial and error. as long as you're incorporating the offal and muscle meat, I don't see why you can't go heavier on the one. Some dogs need a different balance to others. Sme people only feed bones and no mince etc. If the bone is working, keep on!

Not sure if you have read How to Get Started | Prey Model Raw but if not you may find it useful. Most dogs need to start on boney meals and it takes time before you can lessen the amount. Always remember the 80/10/10 ratio is a guideline and each dog is different however you should try to get close to it in the long run. Also remember that the ratio is balance over time.

If you are doing BARF rather than Prey Model my understanding is that it is still very similar although hopefully a BARFer will correct me if wrong.
