Just wondering what everyone puts in their puppy packs

we put in blanket, brush, shampoo, toys, food and treats. also a record of worming and worming etc

This time round i want to do more. Im putting together alittle folder of info.

    So far i have ...

    A contract
    House training help
    Breed standard for the springer
    Breed outline for the springer
    some info on socialisation

There will also be a birth certificate made for each pup aswell.

Can anyone think of anyone else??

Info on the care of bitches when in season and info on spaying. It was suggested on another forum and judging by the number of accidents people have with their bitches, and ignorance about care during seasons and taking them out, I think it would be a good thing to start with the breeders giving the information out.

Hows about a wee list of good reputable websites - I know the dogs trust has a great source of info for behaviour, toilet training etc.

All great thank you esp the poisonous list

I have some info from my own pups training class on house training and i was thinking of photo copying the clicker info that they gave me and including that aswell

All pups will be vet checked and we get a letter from the vets to say they have been checked and when and the letter has all their info on so will include that aswell.

Any ideas on where i can get some good info on care of bitches and spaying/neutering??

Be careful what you photocopy as there will be copyright on it. Ask your trainers if you could have some sheets for puppy owners (or get permission to photocopy it) - they may be quite happy, particularly if you say you will put details of their puppy classes in.

One breeder I know puts in a copy of Gwen Bailey's 'A Perfect Puppy'.

My OH has started putting our puppy packs together, so far, he's done-

    1. Our details with photo of puppy (this will be their puppy when it's born lol)
    2. Photos of both parents
    3. 7 generation pedigree
    4. History of the breed
    5. Info on the breed (Temperament, characteristics, care, training)
    6. Sale sheet (contract)

There are a few things that haven't been done yet, such as -

    Insurance
    KC Papers
Photos of pup from birth to present
Diet sheet to include info on raw feeding
    Packs from Royal Canin
plus odd bits like treats, collar, lead, toys, etc

As well as the above mentiond i also put a brief guide to toilet training and crate training as well as a poem (or 2) that have been on the site. I usually give a poem for new owners to take to read when they have visited/ before collecting so they see things from a dogs view before taking home. :)
