    Hi Guys,

We are picking up our American Akita puppy in three weeks and are seriously struggling to agree on a name choice we both like.

Please vote for your favorite and make suggestions of your own.

    Thanks!

    Mel

I like Gibbs; but would be tempted with something like Boots or Socks for obvious reasons....

I can imagine ;). I like 'friendly' names for breeds that can be perceived as not friendly (unjustifiably!) - Gibbs is a nice one. I'll get thinking of others but I'm a bit rubbish .

I agree, we have stayed away from mean sounding names like Hannbil and Atilla. Those are two names of GSD I have seen at work :

I think Hudson sounds like a nice name for an Akita. They do look quite serious and grave as adults and its a name with gravitas!:D

I think he looks like a little 'Otter' in the first pic but that will obviously seem completely daft when he is older

On the sheer fact that Gideon George Osbourne's real name, I feel compelled to post in case the OP is unaware :p

I like Hudson! But he looks more like a Gibbs :(

Can't he be Fluffy instead :p
