i have rang the closest PDSA to me every day a few times a day for over 5 days (not consecutively) and the phone doesn’t even ring. It beeps. I don’t know what to do. I am getting very frustrated as I rang another and she was very rude and just told me they’re busy and I have to just keep ringing. I need to see someone for jasper and I just can not afford to spend £35 for a consultation plus medication and then 2 taxis, after two vet visits a week or so ago cost me £150+ and the tablets he got given didn’t work so I got told to throw them. Does anyone have any ideas? I am really losing my patience and it’s making my own illness worse.

Have you tried again this morning ? It's quite likely that they may have been shut for the last couple of days (weekend).
The phone "beeping" indicates to me that their answerphone is full with messages and can't take any more - have you tried emailing them ? There should be an email address on their website.

Is your nearest branch nearby ? If so could you pop down there to check that they are still actually at that address and make an appointment 'in person' ?

I rang Them in the week last week and 3 times already this morning. The nearest
One is near Sheffield so a 15/20 min car drive so I’d have to get someone to take me and being me home. I can’t find an email. I rang one of the others and she said that she will speak to the internal manager and to try in 30 mins. Which I have and no change x

Make that 7 times actually I’ve tried to ring this morning. It beeps for 10/15 seconds and cuts off @Bertie'sMum

I've just had a look online to see if I could find an email address for you - I notice that there are actually 2 PDSA branches in Sheffield.

one in Newhall Road open till 6pm (0114 243 2232) and the other in Northern Avenue open till 4.30pm (0114 399 7997) - don't know which one you've been trying but it might be worthwhile trying the other number as well.

I’ve tried both. The first is closest who don’t answer and the second can’t help. I’ve been told by the helpline I should be ringing 40 times a day as some people do because they’re a charity. Great :( Thankyou anyway

True: if they were closed at the weekend then they maybe have a backlog of people trying to get an appointment on Monday. Try tomorrow as soon as they open? It's infuriating. My GP has a strange system now where you ''ring at 08.30'' for an appointment the same day (no prebooking, say for next week). I rang 34 times in two days and got an engaged tone until 09.00 to be told they were fully booked.
Also to say, to get PDSA treatment, you have to meet certain criteria, benefits-wise; don't know what they are, maybe housing benefit. Good luck.

I’ve rung Monday through Friday last week at different times of the day. I qualify for contribution based one. The woman on the helpline just said keep trying etc but I am at my wits end

Why can't they help? Are they booked up for weeks?

My GP has the same system. I ring and it says "you are number 967 in the queue"
And when I do get through at 9am there's no more appointments if I haven't been disconnected first that is!
