My breeding Australian Labradoodle gets symmetrical “spots” each time she is pregnant. Her coat is cream and apricot and the spots are a darker red. Around the time the pups are born the fur of the spot falls out and the new growth is again the darker red. After the pups are weaned the growing fur changes back to cream where the red is only at the end of the fur. I’ve tried to find information about this and cannot find anything in a google search. Has anyone heard of or seen this before?

The most likely explanation would be hormonal changes.

How many times has she been pregnant?

I was assuming that it was hormonal. She’s been pregnant 3 times. She just breed again and has only one spot. I’m curious to see if she only has pups on one horn.

I was thinking hormonal also. That's odd isn't it. Hormones mess with bodies in the most crazy ways. But that is very interesting.

I’d like to know if there is a name for it so I can see if there is any literature about it.

Mini walrus, that's a new one. And potentially in violation of the trade descriptions act.

And, I believe, bred by our own Resident Puppy Farmer and sold for a handsome price.

Well if purposefully creating dogs who are deformed to the point that they will suffer debilitating, painful structural issues all their lives is "cute", I really don't know what to say to that :(

So first it is a Labradoodle and now its a Bar Shar hmmm. Are we supposed to believe that they are totally unrelated? That is one big coincidence!!!
