Gosh what an awful title! The poor girl hasn’t even got a name. Come on PF pals send me your suggestions.
She’s a dainty dark tortie, hard to get a decent pic of her so far.
I’ve had her for 17 days and she’s still showing ‘saddle bags’ so I don’t think birth is nigh just yet. She’s eating a ton of food so really is looking like an egg on legs.
It’s been a good few years since I’ve actually handled a birth so am a little anxious.
One question.....I know I need to check to make sure that a placenta is passed for each kitten but should mum be allowed to eat all the placentas?

Dunno anything about placenta and feel quite faint at the thought, but will chuck some names about:

Sophie, Katniss, Ophelia, Scamp, Tabitha, Alice, Katie...

I always thought "Samphire" would make a good cat name, though everyone thinks I'm crazy. Maybe more for a boy.

If mum wants to let her eat the placentas, otherwise just remove them.

I believe it is natural for mum to eat all the placentas. They are packed with nutrients. :). The pregnant cats I fostered years ago used to eat every placenta after each kitten was born.

I hope all goes well with the births. :)

Day 18 in the pregnant foster house and whilst we have no babies yet, we do have a name!
Mia, because I’ve been calling her Momma and now we have......Momma Mia and the potential for an ABBA themed litter.
She is eating for England so I’m looking forward to my zooplus delivery which includes some 800g tins!

If she doesn't eat the placentae and you're burying them (very good for plant nourishment, roses often grow well above a placenta), don't forget to bury them really deeply :)

Good girl, Mia, I hope that you are enjoying being spoilt rotten!

That's if there's a girl. Got sudden image of vast swaggering Tom with 8 inch chops answering to the name of Chiquitita :Hilarious:Hilarious

    Day 20!
Lord I only took her in because I was told she was ready to drop and she’s showing no sign yet of actually producing them.

You know she's got little balloons shoved up her jumper, don't you, to fool you into thinking she's with kitten but in fact just wants you to keep her :)

Oh Mia, you little pickle, your poor foster mum is on tenterhooks!

Get her a vindaloo and tell her to hop backwards, sneezing.

Aw she's onto a good thing and she knows it xx

Maybe she is going to have a big litter, hence why they thought she was due earlier:Bookworm
Could be lots of ABBA themed kittens on the way :Cat
I second Chiquita and vote also for a boy to be Fernando

@Summercat - I had forgotten until now there are so many names in ABBA songs!

Here are some more names from their songs -

    Elaine
    Cassandra
    Suzy
    Helen
    Bobby
    Nina
    King Kong

More choice for girls than boys but if Benny and Bjorn are added to the list it's better. :)
