do any of your dogs have a prefered side to walk on ?

Gypsy is very specific , she has to be on the right hand side of Toff , doesnt matter if they are on a split lead, longline or even if two people are walking the dogs , she will always try to be on the right
    No idea why

Toff could care less as long as he gets his walks , lol

Oscar is always on my left, Alfie my right.

Even though i am right handed, my left arm is stronger after i had an accident sheep shearing.

I always have Sidney to the left of me. If I have the pups without Sidders, they are also on my left.

If Mabel is being walked by just one person it MUST be on the right.
If she is being walked by both me and OH she MUSt be in the middle.
If she is being walked with her Weimarner friend she MUST walk on the outisde.
If she is being walked with 2 other dogs she MUST be with the other dog and not on the side with just one pooch.
If she is being walked with 3 other dogs she MUST be on the side with the largest dog.

Not like she has preferences or anything.....:blushing:

Elmo hates walking rather snooze his day away.
I have never known such a lazy dog.
Left side/right side which ever with Elmo even backwards.
But once he gets started he is ok.

Ours all want to walk on the left because that's how they were all trained. However, it's not practical when you are walking five of them, so they are all happy to be on either side really.

I have Zig on my right most of the time. There are no pavements here, so for accurate timing of the dive into the hedge with fast traffic, I walk on the right of the road, with Zig between me and the hedge so I can shove her into it in front of me. She will walk on either side, but tends to be on my right given the choice.

Barney HAS to be left, if you try and put him right he'll cross back over. This is because since I had him at 6 months he was walked on the left, it was a dog training thing.

Maya walks on the left but couldn't care less if she was on the right either.

mine are always walked on the left but personally it would be so much easier for me to walk them on the right :D

  18. I prefer mine on the left, the lead handle is in my right hand, My left hand half way down the lead should I need to check them.

Mine have always walked on the left, may be due to to the obedience training they had as pups.

Ours are always trained to walk on the left so the right is free to carry your gun :)
