Has somebody else notice this behavior with their cat? Sometime before or after he poops he zooms through the house. After he poops, it feel like he wants to show me he's "lighter" and goes crazy flying through the house.

Yep. Very common. I've always called it the Poop Run. :)

Perhaps it's a behavior based in instinct. As a prey animal a cat will be particularly vulnerable during having a poop. And the odor might linger even after burying, so (perhaps) they have an instinct to get away from it quickly when they are done.

Some cats may have that instinct more developed, making them feel compelled to run. Because it's fun to do, they keep doing it.

Yep, mine does it too ! Always after, not before though. I think it's a "celebration" like "Oh good, I've got rid of that now I can have some fun":rolleyes:

Yes, two of mine do the post-poo zoomies. One of them does it every time and goes mad happily tearing around the house, skidding on the wooden floors and racing up cat trees! It is hilarious to watch.

Evidently for cats, just as for humans, having a good poop is a pleasant thing, LOL. :D

Mosi does it too. A few minutes of complete madness where he bounces off the walls and knocks everything off the coffee table.
