Just been out the front cleaning the car, and a meter reader knocked at the house opposite, got no answer so proceeded to read the meters which were both outside.
5 minutes later I heard someone saying "Hello", didn't take much notice, but heard it again, looked up and could see the meter reader look toward the house opposite, so I turned to see the old lady of the house, standing in the doorway in her incontinence pants.
The meter reader who had caused her to have to painfully and slowly walk to the door just ignored her and carried on with his readings
She called again so I popped over and explained to her what had happened.
I think I'm going to have to have a word with her carers, she can't be opening the door in that condition :( she didn't even have her chain on
Maybe they might ring the company and make sure it doesn't happen again

definately do, they can add it to her 'call out' info so that she can be left in peace or notified when a meter reader is goign to come out.

having said that he shouldn't be ringing bells if the meters are outside anyway! numpty.

part of the problem is carers are so expensive now & all those in need of any kind of care are means tested it works out around £16.50 per hour for carers, we have carers going in for my mum & stepdad, although I care for them too they end up paying around £200 a month on top of the hours that are paid for by social services, then also £12 a day on top of that for anyday care service plus dinner money too.

It's only going to get worse with all the cut backs cameron is making & the elderly & disabled will suffer!
