Yay! Ziggy is booked in for a pom-pom-ectomy on 15th December. I've been stressing about the delay due to the second lockdown so I'm glad it's in the diary now. I have told Zig to enjoy the last two weeks with them although hopefully he's not really aware of what they are for yet!

I had Jinx snipped and chipped at the same time but he was done at 4 months. I took Ziggy to be chipped at the beginning of this month as I was worried he'd somehow learn how to tail gate Jinxy out the microchip cat flap and not be able to get back in! He's now programmed in as an 'indoor only' cat so he shouldn't get out but if he does it will let him back in.

The microchip cat flap is a wonderful invention. The only thing better would be 'mouse detection' as the cat comes through!

He can play with the baubles on the tree instead of his own!

Ziggy had his operation today. I don't know if it's more noticeable because he's a tabby (compared to Jinx who is black) but that area really looks quite sad and deflated now.

They gave me metacam for the next couple of days which surprised me as I didn't have any with Jinx. Should I use it or just see how he gets on? So far he has been running round like a loon. We have also had snuggles and I think he has forgiven me for starving him last night.

Glad all went well for Ziggy. I would give the metacam for a few days, just to be sure! X

Ok...I'm a bit worried now...Ziggy is licking down there (fine) but exposing his, er, little red lipstick. Never seen a cat do this before. I assume it's linked to the operation but unless anyone can offer any advice, I'll phone the vet tomorrow to be sure.

I don’t think you need to worry, cats do that when they clean that area!

So glad it went well and Ziggy‘s he’s normal self :). Only be concerned if he starts over licking and it starts to look raw. As for his little red lipstick, my Charlie likes to pull on his quite hard when he’s cleaning :Wideyed
