    Hi everyone,

I posted this elsewhere in the forums but i dont think it's been seen by many people, so hope this is ok to post here :)

me and my partner have recently launched a new website after being very confused in finding a pet insurance policy for my cat we decided to launch a comparison website to make things easier. as its new we've not had much feedback so would really appreciate it if you could take a quick look and let us know what you think...

the site is - Compare Pet Care

    thanks in advance!!

    Honest review :

    Misspelt "Alsatians" ;)
Would say "hopping happily" rather than "happily hopping"..

Nice look, good presentation. Although that churchill deal is kinda obscuring the comparison on dogs and its a bit confusing and not very nice...

Not sure how useful it is as a comparison tool since a lot of variable "vary" so still have to check individual companies...
but there is a need for some good comparison on this so if you put the work hopefully you can get somewhere ;)

    xx

    Hi!

I've just had a look at the website & I think the layout & style are good - it's appealing to the eye. Looked at the cat page as I've got five cats who are all insured - wish somebody would come up with a true multipet policy instead of paltry additional pet discounts - costs me a fortune! I have premium lifelong policies on all my cats, but there are a lot of people who can't afford these - you might want to add some more of the basic cheaper 12 months/per condition companies to it. You've got quite a lot that don't have a price per month rate on them? You've got a "pros" column, I think it would be a good idea to also have a "cons" one, such as M&S have introduced a clause that you're suposed to ring before attending an out of hours vet for approval - if one of my cats was sick enough to warrant an out of hours consultation, I wouldn't be hanging around wanting to ring them to make sure it was ok!! I'm not really sure what the benefits of the site are at the moment apart from grouping a lot of the companies offering pet insurance all together & giving some basic information. Are you going to rate the different policies at all?
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good idea & well presented, but I think you could offer more advice/information on it to make it even better :)

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the feedback everyone that's great, we will be making changes to improve it and your feedback really helps us out with that. At the moment the issue we have is that the insurance companies won't specify a price, I was on the phone to each company for 5-10 minutes trying to get that info from them but they just want to get your details for a quote, rather annoying really!! Same issue with the excess fee, being that it varies so much they're not even willing to give you an average on the phone.

We're going to write to each company with a full explanation of our site in the hope that they will be more helpful with this missing information.

    Thanks again everyone x

PS - MunchBunch, whilst we would love to point out the cons, directly mentioning this things could prevent us from being impartial and then leads to problems of complaints to regulating bodies such as the FSA, as it could then be mis-interpreted as financial advice, so for now think we'll steer clear of that. Thanks for the suggestion though, thinking maybe we could introduce topics like this into our blog in a careful manner :)

I haven't looked at the site, so i cannot comment... my personal thoughts are:
did you just post here to get people to click on your links... abit like spamming:rolleyes: ? or did you ask admin prior...

    just my thoughts...:D

    Hi Dingle,

No problems, and no we didn't want to get people just clicking on links, actually genuinely after feedback on our new site, and figured what better audience (we've already made some edits based on feedback r'cd) :) hopefully this will be more obvious when you see us around on the forums in a week, month or year from now! :D

We didn't ask admin prior, should we have done?
sorry if we've not gone about this the right way, no intentions to upset anyone or come across spam-like! :(

i would have thought it would have been just polite to maybe ask first, but hey i'm not admin or a mod... just making an obvservation, my pets are already fully insured... so i have no need to compare...;)

personally if i was admin i wouldn't allow the links in the sig either unless of course you were an approved trader or a well established forum member... lets face it your links could be for free ads or just plain old porn sites...:D

you aint even done 50 posts yet & you is advertising lmao...

I didnt see any forum rules about that so guessed it would be OK to add my link, happy to remove them if that's the case though, no worries at all :) can promise you the links aren't for free ads or plain old porn lol

On the way to 50 posts now, getting addicted to this place!
